When starting AutoCAD or other software using FLEXlm/FLEXnet, you can receive an error similar to the following:

A valid License could not be obtained by the network license manager, try again...
Error [1.5.-71]

This error is related to an invalid TZ environment variable.

To resolve the error, look through environment variables set in the control panel and/or autoexec.bat, and correct or remove any faulty entries as needed.
