To restore data from a backup of the License Statistics database:
- You need a dump (xformation_licstat.dump) of your database, which should have been made during a backup before uninstallation.
- To restore the data, put the saved database dumps in the mysql directory under the License Statistics installation directory where mysql_start_restore_stop.bat is located. Before License Statistics service is started, use the mysql_start_restore_stop.bat batch script to restore the data.
- Additionally in version 3.5.2 you need to have import.txt file to ensure data duplication will not happen. This is explained in our Knowledgebase article "Migration guide: Missing imported.txt file when upgrading from v3.5 and
3.5.1 to 3.5.2".
Important: Do not import databases twice. This applies to databases that are version 3.0 or older. When an older database has been imported in the past, the data is already present in the MySQL dump. Therefore, you should not try to copy old .db files to the db directory, because this can result in many potential problems. If they have never been imported before, please refer to our guide on Importing data from License Statistics version 3.0 and below.
