LM-X License Manager version 3.3 includes the following enhancements and fixes. Most of these changes were made in response to customer feedback. For more information about how we incorporate customer feedback into our development process, see our Knowledgebase article, "Customer-driven development."

Important changes

The following improvements made in this release may affect your existing code that was created using previous versions of LM-X. Please check these changes carefully to determine any updates you may need to make in your code.

Issue #	Description
LMX-77	All hostids used are now the real machine values instead of obfuscated values. For compatibility information, please see the KB article "LM-X v3.3 now uses non-obfuscated hostids."
	All builds on Solaris are now done from Solaris 9 instead of Solaris 8.
	Client library dll/so/dylib is now named liblmx-<vendor>.dll/so/dylib.

Enhancements

LM-X v3.3 includes the following enhancements.

LMX-47	Support up to 10,000 license clients under Linux.
LMX-309	Lmxendutil and LMX_GetLicenseInfo now reports borrow, trial and grace licenses.
LMX-322	Make it possible to change the lockfile path for the license server.
LMX-335	Make path of configuration file visible in license server logfile.
LMX-353	Support for bios hostids under Windows.
LMX-355	Server-side callbacks list borrowed licenses.
LMX-361	Improvement of network example.
LMX-368	Uniquely identify each borrow request on the server side for purpose of server-side callbacks.
LMX-383	Static error codes now documented in both code and manual.
LMX-396	Improvements of file locking for NFS under Unix.
LMX-405	Make it possible to enable automatic server discovery using environment variables.
LMX-413	Support dongles under Mac OS X 10.6 x64.
LMX-415	Prebuilt client library dll/so/dylib file provided in order to improve compatibility with various compilers.
LMX-439	Option to specify custom username and hostname when using LM-X with application servers.
LMX-452	Change current directory of license server service to filename path.

Fixes

LM-X v3.3 includes the following fixes.

LMX-128	Issues with HAL servers.
LMX-359	Minor improvements to xmllicgengui.
LMX-393	Fix for softlimit licenses for license counts higher than 9999.
LMX-414	License server could not write log file due to excess of file handles used.
LMX-422	Heartbeats were not working properly when a license was checked out the second time.
LMX-423	Real machine wrongly identified as a virtual machine.
LMX-425	Always cleanup automatic server discovery cache.
LMX-431	Wrong error codes with borrowing sometimes occurred.
LMX-432	Wrong detection of VMware.
