With the Ubuntu operating system, you should ensure that the usbfs is mounted before installing a HASP dongle. To do this, add the following line in /etc/fstab:

none /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults 0 0

Additionally, on a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10 x64, the package ia32-libs is required to install the dongle driver.
