License Distribution Service's bulk licensing feature lets you issue multiple licenses (with different hostids) for the same order. These licenses can be activated at different times independently, offering significant flexibility.
For example, you could create an Order with the bulk license count set to 5 and LICSERVICE_EXPIRE_DAYS=365 specified in the feature settings. (You can further limit the window for activation by setting activation start and end time for the Order.) The Customer for which the Order is created can then generate the licenses separately within the specified timeframe; for example, the customer might activate the first license on 2009-03-31, three more licenses on 2009-05-01, and the last license on 2009-06-01. Since LICSERVICE_EXPIRE_DAYS is set to 365 for the Order, the first generated license will expire on 2010-03-31, the next three on 2010-05-01, and the last on 2010-06-01.
Bulk licensing is typically used with node-locked licenses only.
