You may see a warning message similar to the following in your License Statistics log:
[2008-08-14 16:02:22] WARNING: Statistics generation takes too long time for lumsrv06 which causes loss of statistics information! [2008-08-14 16:02:22] WARNING: Please consider removing old statistics
information from database, upgrade hardware
and notifying X- Formation support!
This warning indicates that License Statistics took too long to generate the current
graphs. Normally, the graphs must be completed within the interval specified in your configuration file; for example:
UPDATE_INTERVAL = 5
If you specify an interval of 5 minutes as shown above, the graph generation cannot take more than 5 minutes. The typical reasons for statistics generation taking longer than the specified interval include:
- Too low an interval setting
- Too little memory
- A slow and/or overloaded server.
To resolve this issue, verify that you have enough memory and that the interval is set appropriately in the configuration file.
